...since I posted something.  Unless you count the newest episode of the wmc_vs .  Somehow that doesn't seem to count since it isn't on my journal. :)

I've been home sick today with something that feels like the flu but doesn't come with a sore throat or fever.  Being out sick had its advantages, though, as I was able to work on edits for the latest chapter of "No Rest for the Wicked" as well as wrapping up the first draft of a new "Playing with Fire" chapter.  With any luck, maybe I can actually get one of them posted this week.

Just had to jot down a quick post to say thanks to Christina Cox, Liz Vassey and especially Nancylee Myatt for answering fan questions for allaine 's radio program.  Nancylee even called in and answered a few questions for us on the air.  It was a lot of fun, and if you're a Nikki & Nora fan or like South of Nowhere, Defying Gravity, or CSI, I think you might enjoy downloading the show and giving it a listen.  My only regret?  I didn't say "dude" nearly enough...

I squeed like a little girl when Alyson Hannigan sent me a tweet today.  Now I've had contact with both Tara and Willow via twitter.  I love twitter.  Yeah, yeah, I'm a goofball.  Just had to share. ;)

Nancylee Myatt, Liz Vassey, and Christina Cox have graciously agreed to answer questions about Nikki & Nora as well as their other shows... ...physically anyway.  I'm pretty sure I left parts of the soles of my feet somewhere in downtown Manhattan, and I think my mind is still wandering around Times Square.  Oof.  Haven't done that much walking in a long time.

New York was great.  It was a blast meeting up with darandkerry , ralst , cabenson , eclecticfan , tremblingmoon , fewthistle , grumpybear1031 , seftiri , maroukian , and theholyinnocent .  I also got to cross paths with a few others... revolos55, the super beta, among them.  I know there were others I got to meet and shake hands with, but my brain is too exhausted to let me remember anymore names at this point.  Sorry!

I wasn't there for the Otalia madness, but those girls sure know how to party. Although I pity the poor souls who had to figure out the Marriott's effed up elevator system after a few drinks. ;) 

As for the highlights... Aside from spending several days in zennie 's company... Dinner with friends, Levain's Bakery, Central Park, a nice day in the Village, awesome pizza at John's Pizzeria, and a kickass Friday night showing of "Wicked" at the Gershwin theater.  I think I get why people write femslash about that one!

So I hope to start working on my stories again very, very soon.  I have my WMC episode off to the betas so I've cleared that hurdle.  I'm not sure if N&N or "No Rest for the Wicked" will be up first.  We'll see who the muse is interested in.

Back to reality now.  Off to do more laundry...

Hi, all.  Looks like I'm going to have to take a forced hiatus from writing for a spell.  It's not that I won't be writing at all... I have the WMC episode to finish, which is part of the reason my other stories will have to hit the back burner for a bit.  I'm close to being done, but the episode is being a pain on a few fronts so it's taking up all my free time.  That leads me to the second item that's putting a dent in my writing... time, or rather the lack of it.  Aside from the typical work craziness, I'm heading out on another brief trip late next week.  So for those who are waiting on me to update any of my stories, I apologize for the delay.  I'll do my best to update them as soon as I can.

Headed out early tomorrow morning for a few days with the parents.  It's been almost two years since I've been back to my tiny little hometown.  Should be interesting to see what has changed.  I'll have my shiny new iPhone with me so I won't be completely cut off from the world, but I will be a little harder to reach.  I am, however, borrowing zennie 's laptop so I can squeeze in some time on N&N and the SCC/Firefly crossover.  I might even work on the Birds of Prey fic for those who are actually reading it. ;)  The big hurdle will be getting my final WMC episode done.  The deadline is fast approaching.  Eeeek!!

I've been trying to post the latest chapter for "No Rest for the Wicked" but LJ won't let me put the damn thing behind a cut.  It's also putting about an inch of space between every paragraph.  Argh!  When it decides to play nice with me again, I'll get the latest chapter up.  Sorry for the delay!

So I'm looking for inspiration.  The Royal Academy of Bards kindly invited me to participate in their Halloween challenge this year.  I can write in any fandom I choose so long as the story fits the challenge.  In other words, the story needs to be scary, have a supernatural angle... you get the gist.  The question is... which fandom do I write in?  Do I put a couple of the Women's Murder Club gals in a haunted house?  Should Nikki & Nora get pulled into the world of voodoo on a case?  Should I try a creepy SCC story?  Ugh.  I just can't decide.  I even wonder if I should try another fandom.  The Academy was founded on Xena fic after all.  Any suggestions from anyone? :) 

On a completely unrelated note, did you know that it's possible to get a hematoma from the injections you get to numb you up at the dentist?  Well you do now. ;)  Apparently they are very rare, but let me tell you... they hurt like hell.  I'm on some serious pain meds right now so if I post anything really rambling and nonsensical over the next few days... I blame the drugs!
